WHO WE ARE
Brothers Keepers Motorcycle Club was created in 2003 for firefighters who love to ride together. Membership in the BKMC is open to any Firefighter (volunteer or career, active or retired) owning a cruiser / touring motorcycle with an interest in group riding regardless of race, creed or sex. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older. The BKMC and Charter Chapter (Shreveport, LA) have adopted the Percy Johnson Burn Foundation (Ark-La-Tex Burn Foundation) as our charitable partnership.  Each Chapter of Brothers Keepers must contact their local Burn Foundation to partner with. The Shreveport Chapter of Brothers Keepers holds a Burn Run each year as our big fundraising event of the year.  We are a non-profit organization and all of the proceeds from the Burn Run are donated to the Burn Foundation.  Donations are accepted anytime.  The 7th Annual BKMC Burn Run will be held April 16-17, 2010 at Lake Bistineau State Park, area 2.

WHY WE DO IT
The reason BKMC works so hard to put on an event like this is to raise money for the Ark-La-Tex Burn Foundation (also known as the Percy R. Johnson Burn Foundation). Each summer, a camp is held in Scottsville, TX called “CAMP I’M STILL ME”. This camp accepts children ages 4 to 17 who have had burn injuries. The camp is FREE for all children, including meals and supplies. The camper to counselor ratio is 4 to 1. They are staffed with members of the Burn Care Team (doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, teachers, social workers, firefighters and adult burn survivors). You can visit their website at http://CampImStillMe.com. In 2009, Brothers Keepers Motorcycle Club was able to donate $14,000, thru your generosity.  It is our goal that every burn survivor child wishing to attend summer camp will be able to attend.  Please help us support this wonderful cause...these children deserve it!!
